Things I am Thankful for Thursday #42
Once again, I am a little behind... The hubby was here last Thursday, and I just wanted to spend all the time I could with him!! :) So, to play catch up, I will post 10 things I am thankful for.
1) I am thankful that last week, when I went to see my hubby for his Christmas party, that I got there and back home safely. The wind was horrible, and severely hindered the visibility while driving. Severely.
2) I am thankful that the hubby got to come home for Christmas! Not just for Christmas, but for almost a full week! It was soooo nice after not getting to see him for about a month.
3) I am thankful that we got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas day with Brad's family. It was nice actually getting to spend time with family. That doesn't get to happen much.
4) I am thankful for this break from school I am currently getting! It's been pretty great having a few weeks!
5) I am thankful for getting a new bed for Christmas! Our old bed was awful to sleep on, and we would both wake up hurting in weird places. This bed has been awesome!!
6) I am thankful that my dog is okay. About a week ago, he wasn't feeling so well. So I took him to the vet and got him some meds, and some bland dog food for the time being.
7) I am thankful that even with the snow and ice a few days ago, we (the hubby and I) made it home safely. After last weeks dirt/sand nastyness, then we got snow on Christmas. The roads were pretty bad. But we got home safely!
8) I'm also thankful that the hubby got home/work safely afte the snow. He left early early yesterday, and the roads were still a little gross.
9) I am thankful that insurance kicked in on time to where it made the hubby's hospital visit last month, affordable! It would have been a ridiculous amount had we not had insurance.
10) I am thankful for the time the hubby and I had this last week together. It was a longer time this time since we had seen each other. So it was super nice!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #41
Before I get started on my 5 things this week, I wanted to share an article with you. Feel free to pass it along. It IS 100% true, I have looked into it on Snopes.com, and there ARE news articles about it.
http://www.wave3.com/story/20321233/child-fighting-late-stage-cystic-fibrosis-breaks-record-for-most-christmas-cards-received
The boy in the article is 9 years old and is in later stages of CF (cystic fibrosis). CF is a disease of the lungs. Unfortunately, most people with CF don't ene up seeing their 30th birthday. CF is a disease that fills the lungs with fluid, and mucous that doesn't go away. Therefore it is suffocating to the person who has CF. The boys name is Dalton Dingus. He has already broken the world record for most Christmas cards recieved, but he would love to recieve more so as to keep the record number going. His address is at the bottom of the article, or it's;
H.C. 62, Box 1249
Salyersville, KY 41465
Feel free to share his address, and the link above!!
A friend of mine had CF. We went to high school together. She was 2 years older than me, but we would still see each other in the halls, after school, or even where we worked. Her name is Micha. Her and her bff Lindsey, used to come into the restaurant where I worked and I got the pleasure of waiting on them most of the time. They both worked at Sonic, and since that was "the place to be" I would see them there quite often too. Unfortuanately, Micha lost her fight with CF last year. Even though we didn't keep in touch after high school, and after we moved away from our small town, I can tell you she was a beautiful person inside and out until she passed. Phew, okay, before I go into full on tears, let me get to my 5 thankful things tonight!!!
1) I am so very thankful to be healthy. I may have been born 2 months preemature, and didn't have much of a chance the first few years of my life, but now at 25, I am quite healthy. And being preemature hasn't affected me in my adult life. Thank god.
2) I am thankful that even though Brad is gone most of the month, that we still get to talk every other day. That may not seem like anything special, but when I only get to see him a few days out of the month, getting to talk to him is great!
3) I am thankful that tomorrow is Brad's payday!!! LOL I swear I'm not a gold digger!!! I fell in love with him BEFORE he had the job that he does now! :)
4) I am thankful that classes for me have been out for almost a week now!!! Most everybody I know is finishing up the semester this week. And I've been done since Sunday!
5) I am thankful that Brad and I were able to pay for my moms hair appt today. That seems so small and petty, but I know my mom really appreciated it!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #40
Well, once again I am about 3 weeks behind. So, to make up for that, I wll once again be posting 15 things I am thankful for instead of my usual 5. Here goes!
1) I am thankful that this is the last week of the semester!!! :)
2) I am also thankful that I did NOT have to take one of my finals due to my grade, and only missing one class, so I got to drop a grade anyway. That's always an awesome thing.
3) I am thankful that I got to see my family for thanksgiving.
4) I am thankful that my husband got to spend thanksgiving with his family. (even though that meant we didn't get to spend it together)
5) I am thankful for my awesome friends! We always seem to have great conversations, with no judging involved.
6) I am thankful that I have people I can talk to about what's next as far as my education and career go.
7) I am thankful for having insurance! Such an awesome feeling. Especially since me, nor my husband has had it in several years.
8) I am thankful that I am able to get the important people in my life Christmas gifts.
9) I am thankful that I got to see the Hubby for several days last month!!! That doesn't happen often.
10) I am thankful that I have a hobby/craft that I can share with others!
11) I am thankful that I am getting my Christmas cards out early!!!
12) I am thankful for getting to work so much this month! With school being out, I am getting more hours than usual. Which is nice! I need something to fill my time while school is out!
13) I am thankful that this semester has gone by so quickly.
14) I am thankful for such an awesome husband who loves and supports me no matter what!
15) I am thankful for the wonderful support system that I have in general. My friends, my family, my hubby, my hubby's family! :)

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #39
1) I am thankful for my pets! I know I have said that before, and I know I say it often. But seriously, they are hilarious! They crack me up, and they love me no matter what. If I come home from a bad day, and I yell at them, they still love me, wanna be all over me, and give me kisses. It's the best!
2) I am thankful that next week is Thanksgiving! I cannot wait to see my in-laws, and my parents, grandparents, AND my friend Cassi! Gonna be fun!
3) I am thankful that I do not have kids. I think I might have said this before, but I'm saying it again. I don't know how people go to school, work, and have kids and are a single parent sometimes. I love kids, but some days I just don't have the patience that it takes to be a parent. It's a good thing I don't have kids... at the moment. :)
4) I am thankful that gas here is so cheap!!! I LOVE paying under $3.00/gallon! It's great! Especially after living in CA for 4 years... It never got over $5 while I was there, but it got pretty close to $5 a couple of times. That was kind of a scary feeling.
5) I am thankful that I am a MUCH happier person than I was about 6 years ago. I was not a very happy person, and I used alcohol to make me happy. And while I had fun back then, no doubt, I look back and realize that I was a very unhappy person. I am so thankful that I am not that person today!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #38
Woo hoo!! On time this week!!! :)
1) I am thankful that my mom and dad raised me to think for myself! No matter what they believed in, they still taught me to think for myself and make decisions for myself. Not based on what others say or do. Thank god for that!!!
2) I am thankful that (most) of my friends and I can still be civil even if we don't have the same beliefs. I have freinds that are Christian, Catholic, Republican, Democratic, Liberal, and Conservative. And luckily (mostly) we can all be grown ups and be civil to one another.
3) I am thankful that I found a great vet here in Lubbock!! Sometimes it's hard to find a good vet. Especially if you are still relitively new to an area. So thankful and lucky to have found one!
4) On that note, I am thankful for my pets! They are sooo funny! Even when they are being brats, they are still pretty funny!
5) I am thankful to have the job I have with and with the people I work with! I seriously wouldn't trade them for anything! (Unless of course someone offered me a job paying $20/hour ;)) LOL!! But really, I have met some awesome people at work, and I appreciate them very much!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #37
WOW!! I've been REALLY slacking lately! It's been 2 weeks since my last post. It's been a crazy couple of weeks. But hopefully I can keep up again now! So, instead of my usual 5, or my sometimes 10 things I am thankful for, I guess I need to go with 15 things this week since I am so far behind.
1) I am thankful that I got to see my husband last week for a few days. It's not terribly often we get to see each other or spend time together because of his work. So any chance we get, we enjoy it!
2) I am thankful that I got a class dropped with no issues. I'm not thrilled that I had to drop it, but at the sametime, it's a lot less stress. So, I'll take it!
3) I am thankful that I didn't spend over $25 on a halloween costume this year! I made my own, so it made it cheaper on me!
4) I am thankful that I can be crafty, and make diaper wipe cases. They're fun to make, and people enjoy them. So it's cool that something I enjoy doing, other people enjoy the product.
5) I am thankful that it's already November 1!! This year is going by sooooo fast! I am kind of liking that though.
6) I am thankful that I should be getting to go see family a couple of times this month.
7) I am thankful that Halloween is over. While I love Halloween, I'm just glad it's over!
8) I am thankful that Brad has the job he does. It's weird that he makes the money he does now, but it's also been so nice having that money too!
9) I'm thankful that I live somewhere that gas is NOT over $4. I got gas yesterday and paid $3.09/gallon. That's pretty awesome!
10) I am thankful for the people I have met since I moved from CA. I know this one has been said several times. But I really am. They've all become an awesome part of my life.
11) I am thankful that I don't live on the East coast, and thankful that none of my friends that live that way were affected too bad. Most any of my friends and family got was just wind and some rain. Also, thankful that a friend of mine, who went to NJ over the weekend, and made it on Monday, has been staying safe! Him and some of his crew from New Mexico went that way to help in anyway they can. He's an EMT/Fire fighter.
12) I am thankful that daylight savings time is about to be happening in a few days!! This is my favorite time change of the year!! Even though we don't really get an extra hour of sleep, I sure do like feeling like we do for a few days!
13) I am thankful that it's almost Thanksgiving!! I LOVE thanksgiving! Love the food! Love seeing family (when I get to)! I just love it all!!
14) I am thankful that I have a job I enjoy. It's pretty rare that people have a job they actually enjoy. And pretty much all of my jobs in the past, I have not really enoyed.
15) I am thankful for my crazy fur babies! They are crazy, and sometimes annoying, but I love them anyway! They are really entertaining!!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #36 (on a Friday...)
Oops!! I have been major slacking the last couple of weeks! I've actually been really busy with school. Hopefully I can get back on track and get these Thursday blogs on time!
1) I am thankful that the women I work for/with are so awesome! We all have a good time at work, ad that's pretty awesome.
2) I am thankful that I will be getting to spend thanksgiving with my family and in the process, get to stop in and see my in laws. So excited about that!
3) I am thankful that my diaper wipe cases are selling more now! It's hard to make them while I'm so busy with school, but some how I am still finding enough time to make the custom orders that I have.
4) I am thankful that all my homework is done for the weekend!! That means tomorrow after I get off of work I don't have to stress about getting anything turned in!
5) I am thankful for my awesome hubby. As usual, I realize that I say that often, but I can't say it enough. He really is the best.

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #35
Well, since I completely forgot last week, I will go ahead with 10 things I am thankful for this week!!!
1) I am sooooo thankful that I got to see the hubby this week! It had been right around a month since I had gotten to see him. It was nice just hanging out and being lazy with him.
2) I am thankful that I have awesome friends here. I know I say that one a lot, but it's true. I wasn't sure how people here in West Texas were gonna be... I mean, I knew they were nice, but with my liberal way of thinking, and all my tattoos and piercings, I just wasn't sure. Turns out I have awesome friends here!!!
3) I am thankful that it's already October! I LOVE October because of Halloween!! I love getting to dress up, and see everybody else dress up.
4) I am thankful that because it's already October, that means that next month is November!! I am HOPFULLY going to be getting to visit my mom, brother, and grandparents for Thanksgiving.
5) I am thankful that there is only a few more months in this year and in the semester!! It still feels like the semester barely started, but I'm soooo ready for it to be over~~
6) I am thankful that my animals entertain me. They are quite the fun bunch!
7) I am thankful that I had time last night to actually work on some of my diaper wipe cases!! I've had a couple of custom orders that I have not had the time to work on. And FINALLY had time last night.
8) I know I say this one a lot too, but I am thankful for the job that I have. Everyone I work with is just awesome, the job itself is awesome, and I get to work with kids!!
9) I am thankful that here in West Texas, there aren't near as many spiders as there were in CA!! At least, I haven't come across them anyway!! When I lived in CA if I came home past 6 pm, I could bet that there was a spider who built its web in front of my door somewhere. And it was always a different kind of spider. Here, I haven't had that problem...
10) I am thankful for only needing Cs in my classes to get into nursing school. I know that sounds ridiculous, who wants to only be "average?" But these science classes are KILLING me! I can't wait to be in the actual program doing what I love!!

3) I am thankful that my grandparents are still alive and well. And that I get to talk to my grandma every night.
4) I am thankful that I can do little things here and there for the people in my life. Even if it isn't much
5) I am thankful for the fact that I finally have cable!! LOL

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #33
1) I am thankful that tomorrow I am getting cable tv!!! For the first time in around 20 years! I'm so excited that we can FINALLY affort this little extra.
2) I am thankful that my husband has such a great job. Since we've been together, we've both had some not so awesome paying jobs. But right now, he's sitting in a fantastic job, with a not so bad pay. Plus insurance, and retirement plan.
3) I am thankful for ALL of the people in my life. My parents, my grandparents, brother, in laws, hubby, co-workers, friends in general. They've all had such a huge impact on me and I am thankful that they have all been in my life in various ways.
4) I am thankful for the awesome fall weather we are getting! I'm not a fan of cold weather, or snow. But today's weather was PERFECT! Rainy, and cold. Perfect time to break in my new slippers, and to get my first pumpkin latte of the season! :)
5) I am thankful that I have the money right now to start my Christmas shopping! I wanna get it all done early!! LOL No procrastinating this year!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #32
After last weeks events, I was NOT at all happy, or in a good mood, nor in the mood to be thakful. However, this week I have had time to calm down. :)
1) I am thankful that our apt was NOT rented out yet at the end of our lease term. We were supposed to close on a house last Friday, and it didn't happen. We had already told our apts we would not be renewing our lease almost 2 months ago. So we were very lucky that they didn't have ours promised to anyone else yet.
2) I am thankful that my hubby and I don't live together at the moment. I know that sounds really strange, but he was in town last weekend, and I should have at least checked to see if I had any homework due for a online class. But I didn't, I waited until he was gone, and by then I was a day late. I love my husband to death, but while I am in school and needing to focus on that A LOT, it works that he is gone for work all the time.
3) I am thankful that my job works really really well around/with my school schedule. Some jobs won't hire people on unless they have full availability all day every day. However, with me in school full time, that definitely doesn't work. As a matter of fact, a lot of the people I work with are full time students as well. Our job is AWESOME!!!
4) I am thankful that I was able to afford a laptop for myself. While I have a working desktop at the moment, I decided I could use a laptop since I am taking online classes this semester. So, I went online to best buy, and foud one at a price I could afford.
5) I am thankful that I got to spend the whole weekend with my husband, even though I did turn in a late assignment because of it. I thought he was going to come down Thursday night and leave Friday afternoon. He stayed util Sunday. It was sooooo nice getting to spend that much time together!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #31
Sigh. It's gonna be a little tough for me to pull out 5 things I am thankful for today... Things with the house are looking pretty grim... here goes nothin.
1) I am thankful that my mom will be here this weekend and that I have the weekend off to spend with her.
2) I am thankful that Brad will be here tonight so hopefully we can figure something out as far as the house, or where I might live starting on the 23rd.
3) I am thankful for my awesome pets! I'm super bummed out this afternoon/evening and they've been awesome at loving on me!
4) I am thankful that I have a working computer again. After about a week of not having one, this is great!!
5) I am thankful that I don't have kids right now. I love kids, I do. But with things being as stressful right now without them, I couldn't imagine what it would be like with them!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #30
1) I am thankful that I have financial aid to help in paying for school and books... WOW! Went to buy my books today, and it was closer to $800 than not... :/ Luckily one of the books I will be using next semester too, and the flash cards too. But still. Thank god I have financial aid to help anyway!!
2) I am thankful that my mom, brother, dad, and Brad will all be here on the 31st! So excited! Not that they'll all be here for very long. But none the less. I'm excited.
3) I am thankful that all is going well with the house. :) That's all I'm saying about that!!!
4) I know I say this often, but I am thankful for the relationship Brad and I have. It's been said that I, "go out and party too often." But, Brad knows exactly when I'm going out, where I'm going, who I'm going with, etc. We really do have a great relationship! Trust, no jealousy, anything you could possibly want in a relationship! :)
5) I am thankful that I have found a trainer again, and that we will be starting soon, and I got a GREAT deal! :) So awesome! Can't wait!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #29
1) I am thankful that today I only had one shift, and I got to sleep A LOT today!! It was nice and much needed!
2) I am thankful that tomorrow is only a one shift day, PLUS I'm going to a concert with a friend!! I can't wait!
3) I am thankful that I got Brad's pay stubs in the mail today. That means I can take them to the loan officer tomorrow and be done with that part!!
4) I am thankful that Saturday is a FULL day off!!! :) I love my job, and I love kids, but I'm ready for a full day to do nothing!
5) I am thankful that this month has been going by so fast! I'm ready to get back into school. I'm ready to close on the house.
And that's all I've got today... fairly short and sweet.

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #28... OOPS! On a Friday again
Ohhhh my! Days are just slipping by without me even realizing what day it even is!! Oops!
1) I am, again, thankful for the relationship my husband and I have. If we were the jealous type, or had trust issues, or felt like we NEEDED to be around each other 24/7, our marriage would not work. He works in the oil field, so I haven't gotten to see him in at least 2 weeks. We also didn't get to talk to each other for about 4 days. But, it's okay. I understand he's busy, he understands I'm busy, and we just weren't catching each other during down time. This is one of the many reasons I love that man!
2) I am thankful that I got to see "my kids" today. LOL no, not my kids, but a friends kids. I love those babies to death!!! They're sweet! Well, they're a little rotten too, but hey, they're kids! And I love em regardless! Also, I am thankful that I got to have a nice chat with their mom today. It was awesome getting to know her a little better! She's a tough gal :)
3) I am thankful that I am putting my craftiness to good use! I MISS doing crafty things, and I decided to start making custom baby wipe cases. It's so much fun, and I've sold 3 already!! It's kind of a nice outlet.
4) I am thankful that Brad is going to get to be here on our closing date for the house! We didn't think he would be able to, but he talked to his boss today and worked something out! So, so happy about that!
5) I am thankful that this month is and has been so crazy! I feel more comfortable and at ease when I am super busy and on the go all the time! I may get tired, but I love it!!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #27... Errr, on a Friday AGAIN
Oh my goodness, I cannot post on a Thursday for the life of me lately for some reason!!! Anyway, here goes!
1) I am thankful that this month I will be SUPER busy!! I'll be working quite a bit! And I am loving it! I need the money anyway, and I need to stay busy. Gives me something to do that's not spending money :)
2) I am glad my favorite kiddos are back at the kids club!! SHHHHH I know! I shouldn't have favorites, but I do! Got to see them today, and they really made my day! I love those babies!
3) I am thankful that my hubby is already going to be at a different site for work soon!! The one he was at was said to be relatively dangerous at times due to the location of it. Luckily he was only there a few days.
4) I am thankful, yet again, for my animals! They keep me entertained! LOL They're all too funny. And I'm also thankful that they all get along!
5) I am thankful that my ac in my apt, and in my car all work. It's been hot the last few days, or hotter than usual anyway, and if my ac wasn't working, I don't know what I'd do!!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #26
1) As upset as I was about having to push our closing date back a whole month, I am thankful that it worked out that way in the end. That means we WON'T be paying rent AND mortgage at the same time for 2 months...
2) I am thankful that the hubby is FINALLY working again!! It felt like it was forever, it was only 2.5-3 weeks, but it definitely felt longer than that!
3) I am thankful that I was able to get my new tattoo recently!! :) Love knowing people in the area!
4) I am thankful that I am going to be crazy busy next month! Luckily, it's going to be A LOT of working! But work = money! And money makes me happy.
5) I am thankful that when I need help, I have people who are willing to help. Makes for a much easier life!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #25 (On a Friday again...)
No, I didn't forget last night, but I did go to the drive in theater last night to watch Dark Night, and Dark Night Rises... Soooo, didn't get home until after 3 this morning.
1) I am thankful that I've made awesome friends here in TX! I know I've said that before, but seriously, I LOVE everyone I've met so far! And, I feel like I've had the chance to do more with them in the last 7 months, than I did in CA in a year. Seems like people have the money to do things here since it's cheaper to live. It's kinda nice! :)
2) As usual, I am thankful for my wonderful husband. We got into it on Monday night... It wasn't pretty, and since we aren't living together (for school/work reasons) it was over the phone. It really sucked. BUT we got it worked out. Like we always do.
3) I am thankful that today is payday!!! :) Well, the 22nd is, but since it's on a Sunday, today is the day instead!
4) I am thankful that nothing crazy went down last night at the drive in while we were watching Batman... So sad and scary to think of those poor people in CO...
5) I am thankful that Big Brother has FINALLY started for the season! I LOVE the show, and I've been soooo ready for it to start!!! :) LOL I know, silly, but I'm still thankful for it

Things I am Thankful for #24
Well... looks like I forgot to post one last week, so I will be again, posting 10 things I am thankful for instead of just 5...
1) I am thankful that I got to spend an entire week with the hubby! It was nice, and we don't really know when that will happen again with this job of his...
2) I am thankful for all the family and friends that actually appreciate and care about me. That may not be all of them, but I'm glad to have a few that do.
3) I am thankful that I had a fun birthday celebration. Haven't gotten to do much for my birthday's over the last few years, it was definitely a nice change getting to actually go out and do a few things.
4) I am thankful that fall classes don't start until LATE August!!! Thank goodness!!!
5) I am thankful for my animals! All 4 of them! My dogs are awesome, super cute, and fun. And my kittens are just hilarious to watch play around!
6) I am thankful that we close on our house in less than a month!!! :) 18 days to be exact!
7) I am thankful that, even though my life isn't perfect, it's pretty damn good.
8) I am thankful that I will always stand my ground in an argument/disagreement. [you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything]
9) I'm thankful that things are going really smoothly in the process of getting our house...
10) and finally, I am thankful that gas where I live currently is always so cheap!!! I look at what I was paying in CA, and what I pay now, and it's soooooooo nice!

Things I am Thankful for #23
Thursday again?!?! Already?? WOW! :)
1) I am thankful that it feels like EVERYTHING is falling into place in my life for once!!
2) I am thankful to be able to be buying a house (provided everything goes well from now until closing on July 30th). It's such an awesome feeling!
3) I am thankful for the opportunities that have presented themselves in the past 2 weeks. Not just for me, but for my husband as well. So fantastic!!!
4) I am thankful for the friends I have made here in TX. I do miss my friends from CA, and I made some awesome ones there, but I feel like the ones here are just different. But in a very good way!!! :)
5) I am thankful that Monday was our 1 year wedding anniversary! I wish we could have spent it together, but just the fact we have made it a year is exciting all in itself! Can't wait to spend many more with him!

Things I am Thankful for #22

Ain't that the truth!!! :)
1) I am thankful that my mother-in-law doesn't mind watching my dogs for the weekend while I go to Oklahoma for my family reunion. Also, I am thankful that my father-in-law is so great too!! I am staying the night tonight in the studio where my husband lived for a little while, it's right behind my FIL's house. Anyway, I had gotten a text earlier saying that he had come over, turned the lights on, unlocked the door, turned the fans on, AND had a green tea waiting in the fridge for me!! They're the best!!!
2) I am thankful that my husband is sooooo supportive! We have been in the process of trying to buy a house. However, I have been the one doing all of the work. Getting approved for the loan, looking at houses, making offers, etc. Well, through all of this, nothing but positiveness has come from my husband. He tells me how proud of me he is for doing this all on my own. I LOVE it! I LOVE him!! :)
3) I am thankful that I am NOT the one driving tomorrow! Heading to OK from my hometown bright and early, like 6 am early, and I do not have to drive a bit! My dad, and grandparents are going to do the driving!
4) I am thankful that I found someone to take care of my kittens while I am gone for the weekend. My dogs are a little high maintinence. Cats are pretty independant. But I still needed someone to at least feed them twice a day while I will be gone.
5) I am thankful that my realtor is so nice, and helpful! He's been such a great realtor! He hasn't been pushy about looking at HIS listings. If I don't like it, no biggy. On to the next! I feel like most realtors would still kinda try to get you to at least look at their listing one more time, or see what you don't like about it, and try and talk you into it. He has not been like that at all! As a matter of fact, since I will be out of town this weekend, he brought me paperwork to my work tonight so I could sign it so we could put an offer on a house! So cool!
Any who, that's it for this week!!! I REALLY need to hit the sack! Gotta be up at 5.... :/

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #21

OOPS!! I was in such a bad mood last Thursday, that I wasn't even in the mood to do this... That's no excuse though! This blog was made so that I wouldn't forget that I have PLENTY to be thankful for, bad mood or not. So tonight I am going to post 10 things I am thankful instead of 5...
Also, just wanted to take a moment to explain the photo real fast... This photo was taken a few days ago in/near my hometown of Ruidoso, New Mexico. The original poster of this photo is Tree Escalanti, and I believe she is also IN the picture. There is a horrible fire going on there right now that is finally around 40 something % contained. It was started on Monday the 4th by lightening. It's taken at least 234 structures, 224 of those peoples homes. More than 1,000 emergency crews (volunteer firefighters, national guard, local law enforcement, hot shots from out of town/state) are there working on getting it put out. Hopefully, it will be at 100% contained soon! I know of at least 3 people who have lost homes... 2 that actually lived in their homes, and one home that was a vacation home/was up for sale. Keep them all in your thoughts and prayers. On that note, here's my Thankful Thursday for this week!!!!
1) I am thankful that the fire in my hometown has not had any HUMAN casualties. Animals are important parts of family too, but I'm just glad that no human lives have been taken.
2) I am thankful for ALL the men and women who are working hard to get the fire out. They've got to be exhausted, hungry, and sore! They are an awesome bunch!!!
3) I am thankful that I was able to help by sending food kits to one of the fire stations. It will be getting there tomorrow, thanks to a friend who is going up there.
4) I am thankful that we didn't get the house that we really wanted. That just means there's something better for us out there.
5) I am thankful that there has been so much love and support coming from ALL over to help with this fire in my hometown. I had friends help me put the food kits together either physically helping, or donating money so I could get the supplies! People as far as WA state, and North Carolina have wanted to get involved and send donations...
6) I am thankful that my husband is okay after a horrible storm that hit where he lives a few days ago. He lives in a little RV and I'm sure it took a beating with the wind and hail. I know his work truck has hail damage... So I am definitely thankful he's okay !
7) I am thankful that no one in my family had to evacuate. I can imagine how scary that must have been for the families that did have to. But I am thankful none of mine had to.
8) Thankful that we are getting rain here where I live. TX could ALWAYS use rain!!!
9) I am thankful that I am going to be getting to go to my family reunion this year! Haven't gotten to go in a couple of years due to distance and money issues. But now that I live closer, and can catch a ride with some of my family, I am getting to go. Plus, we will be celebrating my great grandmothers 100th birthday!!! :)
10)I am thankful that my realtor has been so helpful, nice, and honest! I don't want to get screwed as I am doing this stuff pretty much by myself. Since my husband lives out of state, I am the one dealing with the realtor, and the loan officer. And the realtor has been incredible!

Things I am Thankful Thursday #20 (on a Friday...)
Ahhh, sorry I am getting this out there late... I had some things going on last night that needed to be taken care of! But, better late than never! :)
1) I am thankful for the best husband in the world! I know I always brag about him and am thankful for him, but it's all just too true! He is the BEST! :)
2) I am thankful that I am getting to go to my family reunion/great grandmothers 100th birthday celebration this month! Gonna be nice to see (most) of my family.
3) I am thankful that I have this whole weekend off, except for a work meeting tomorrow which is only supposed to be an hour long... YAY! That means I get to spend ALL weekend with my husband since this is his weekend off and he will be here tomorrow!
4) I am thankful that so far, this year has been pretty awesome. Nothing too terrible going on, everything seems to be going smooth thus far. A few bumps in the road, but nothing too bad.
5) I am thankful that payday is next week! :) Sooooo ready for another paycheck... Yes, maybe I am a little money hungry. But when you don't make a whole lot, you get excited about every paycheck!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #19
Here goes!!!
1) I am thankful that Brad and I have been together for over 5 years now!! :) And next month we'll have been married a year already! Loving every bit of it!!!
2) I am thankful that I had such an awesome weekend last weekend! Had a friend in town from out of state and we had sooooo much fun!! Hopefully we can make it a yearly thing!
3) I am thankful that I am not doing summer classes this summer! LOL I had thought about it, but decided not to. I will next summer, but so glad I decided against it this year...
4) I am thankful that I had 2 paychecks waiting for me today! hahaha! I had picked paychecks up on payday(s) this month, but I had 2 more waiting for me at another location that I didn't think to check at! It's kinda like finding money in that pair of jeans that you just washed!! :)
5) I am thankful that the next weekend that my husband has off, I also have off! And, I didn't even ask for it off!!! :) Sooooo excited! We'll actually get to spend the weekend together!

Things I am Thankful Thursday #18
And it's Thursday again! :)
1) I am thankful for the friends and family I have here in Lubbock!! I've got a brake light out and was gonna take it somewhere to get it fixed, but had a couple of people tell me either they would do it, or that their spouse would! :) So nice, and so helpful! I love it!
2) I am thankful that my friend I haven't gotten to spend too much time with in ohhhhh 7 years or so will be here tomorrow night! :) And I have all weekend off to be able to hang out! So exciting!
3) I am thankful, as usual for my in-laws! We thought that my husbands dog was going to have to go to the pound a few days ago, but instead my awesome father-in-law drove the 2 or so hours to go pick him up and take him back with him until we can either find him a new home or until we can get us a place here!
4) I am thankful for my job, and the people I have met while working so far! I love em all to pieces! We have a lot of fun, and little drama. I know I have said all of that before, but it's too true! It makes for a great work environment!
5) I am thankful for my awesome hubby! I know, I know, I say that a lot! But I can't help it! He's just so great to me and for me! I love him so much it's crazy! :)

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #17
1) I am sooooo thankful that finals are over for this semester! Holy moley!! What a crazy semester BACK in college after taking one off... Didn't expect it to be so hard! But it was, and I got through it! And I got through it AND passed all my classes, AND didn't have to drop one!! I think that's the first semester since I started college that I haven't had to drop a class!!! :) Very exciting stuff!
2) I am thankful that I got to see and spend time (even though I was sick) with the hubby last weekend! I had thought he wasn't coming down for the weekend, but he surprised me! And it was awesome!!
3) I am thankful, as usual, that I married into such a great family! I had asked one of my husbands cousins the other day, "Mikci, how are we not best friends?" To which she replied, "Because we are better, we are family." How great is that?!?! Not even my OWN cousin, from my own blood line. But my husbands cousin! I love it!!! :)
4) I am thankful that I will now get to sleep in all summer, and just be lazy til I go to work! LOL I'm sure after a couple of weeks it'll get old, but I'm sure enjoying it now!!
5) I am thankful for the girls (and guys) I have met so far, while living here! When I moved here, I only knew a few people, I could count them on one hand. Now, it would take me at least my hands, and my feet, twice even! I may not get to hang out with all of them, but I am still so glad that I have gotten to meet and interact with them at work, at our girls weekend, etc.

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #16
It's that time again!! :) Sorry for the way this is posting!! They changed a few things and now it's not posting the way it usually does... It's a little harder to read now cause it's all one paragraph... Hopefully I can figure out how to work around that for next week! :)
1) I am so thankful for last weekend! It was so much fun getting to know some of the girls I work with better, and it was nice getting away for the weekend. Very much needed, and very fun!
2) I am thankful that I found out that I don't have to take my English final because I have either an A or a B in the class! Super exciting! :) Also, while I'm on the subject of finals, I am thankful that I only need a 39% on my math final to get a C in the class, and yes, a C is really all I'm shooting for in that class... Has been quite difficult this semester!
3) I am thankful that when my payday is on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday) we actually get paid that Friday!! And tomorrow is my payday!! :)
4) I am thankful that no one I know was affected by the yucky weather that we had on Sunday... Huge hail, and even a tornado warning. Very thankful that nobody that I know had damage to their cars due to the hail.
5) I am thankful that Brad and I can and will get through anything. I am confident in that. He was going to get to come down this weekend, but things happened, and it turns out he can't make it. We are bummed out, but we made it 2 years without seeing each other but once every 3 months, we know we can do it for the whole month if we have to. I am thankful that we do get bummed out about stuff like that, it shows we both care. And I am thankful that it didn't work out this weekend. I have finals next week and I NEED to study, if he would have still come up this weekend, I wouldn't have studied...

Things I am Thankful Thursday (on a Wednesday) #15
Alright, since I won't be around tomorrow night, due to a much needed girls weekend, I figured I would go ahead and do this tonight!
1) I am thankful that I have 2 weekends in a row to look forward to! This weekend is a girls weekend with some of the girls I work with, and the next weekend is the hubby's weekend off so I will get to see him! :) I cannot wait for either weekend!
2) I am soooo thankful that next week is my last week of classes, then the week after is finals! So close I can taste it! Of course, that's just til summer, but I'll take it!!!
3) I am thankful that I got an A on the latest paper we turned in for English! I wrote it very last minute (yes, I am a procrastinator) and used my cell phone for some of my sources for the paper. So, I am thankful that it turned out so well!
4) I am thankful that next month, a friend of mine will be here for a few days! Will be nice to catch up with her in person! :)
5) And, again, as usual, I am so thankful for my mother-in-law! She is watching my dogs for me this weekend so that I can go on this girls weekend! Of course, she lives where we are headed, which makes a difference, but if she couldn't have watched them, I'd be sol on this trip...

Things I am Thankful Thursday (on a Friday again) #14
Sigh, rough night tonight. Last night I went to bed early cause I had an early day today, and my blog just happened to slip my mind. Here goes!
1) I am thankful the my hubby enjoys this new job of his! It's always nice to have a better paying job, but it's great when you actually like it too! He has long hours, but as long as he likes it, and it's paying bills, we'll take it!!
2) I am thankful, once again, that I do NOT have children. I LOVE kids. I do, but with school, and work, I just don't know how well I would handle it! I know it's possible, but I'm glad that I don't have to deal with that...
3) I am thankful that (hopefully) after this semester, in order to get my Associates at least, all I'll need is 3 more science classes! That's what I was told, as long as I pass my Chem this semester... So that's why the hopefully is in there... :)
4) I am thankful for all the girls I work with! I'm pretty sure I've said that before, but they are just all so great! Can't wait til next weekend to be taking a weekend trip with them!
5) I am, as usual, and quite often, thankful for my awesome husband! I have had a rough week all the way around, hadn't gotten to talk to him in a couple of days, so close to the end of school I can taste it, yet it's still far enough away I'm frustrated. I'm getting sick again. It's just been rough! So when I finally got to talk to him, I chewed him out. But instead of him being an ass back to me (which I fully deserved) he was nice about it and told me he'd call me later cause he was still busy. First thing I did was apologize. I did feel bad. And I knew I shouldn't have taken out my day/week on him. But I'm lucky enough to have someone like him who was understanding and just let me vent and bitch it out...
And that's all I've got!! Sorry so late this week!!!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #13
1) I am soooo thankful that I love this job so much, and the girls I work with!! Especially since some of us will be spending a whole weekend together at the end of the month!! :) Which I am also thankful for! It'll be nice to have a whole weekend off, having a girls weekend, getting to know them all better, relaxing, and having fun! Just a week before finals too!
2) I know I said this a couple of weeks ago, but I am again thankful that today I got to go to lunch with my father-in-law again. He lives 4 hours away, but he had a Dr appt here in town where I live. So we went and had lunch again today. I miss CA like crazy, but I do like the fact that I am closer to my parents and my in-laws.
3) Speaking of in-laws, I know I've said this many times before, but I am thankful for my mother-in-law. She is going to watch my dogs while I am on the girls weekend with the girls from work. We are going to the town where I am originally from, and that's where she lives. So I am going to drop them off with her for the weekend so she can spoil them :)
4) I am thankful that most of my finals are NOT cumulative! Which means that they won't be over EVERYTHING we've covered all semester. They'll just be over the last few sections/chapters we are going to go over. Thank goodness!!
5) I am thankful that a friend of mine is gonna be coming though here and staying with me a few days next month! Woo hoo!! :) Party time! LOL not really. But it'll be nice to have the company and be able to go do a few fun things

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #12
Here goes!!!
1) I am thankful that I AM a survivor. As many of you know (from knowing me personally, or from reading my very first blog) that I was a victim of sexual abuse. However, I have made the choice to be a survivor! I'm so grateful that I have moved on from the victim, to survivor. It's a hard, long, tedious process. But it can be done. And I have done so.
2) I am thankful that my grandfathers surgery yesterday went well. He had surgery to remove plaque from his arteries. He stayed in the CCU overnight last night, and his BP was a little high today, so they are keeping him overnight again. But, I am so glad that everything went well and that he is still alive and kicking.
3) I am thankful that I have Monday off of school AND work!! I'm soooooo excited, and can't wait to sleep in!! :) Haven't had a day off since last Friday, and Monday is my next one. But, that is also my fault. I picked up some hours here and there. Which I am also thankful for those hours. But boy am I ready for Monday!!
4) I am thankful that my friends that live in the Dallas area are safe, and that none of their apts, or belongings were damaged in the tornadoes a couple of days ago.
5) I am thankful that it is almost summer time! Summer is my favorite season!! I'm not looking forward to the heat here in TX, but I am soooo ready for no classes, summer eats/treats, and activities! Soooo much fun to be had in the summer! :)

Things I am thankful for Thursday #11
I know it's earlier than usual, but the hubby will be here tonight and I won't wanna do this latet when he's here :)
1) I'm thankful that I was able to help out a friend this week. Long story short, her car didn't lock completed and someone stole a few things including her oldest daughters backpack. So I got online and bought her daughter a new one and it should be here today hopefully. It was awesome getting to help someone else out. :)
2) I'm thankful that I got to meet up with my father-in-law for lunch yesterday. He was only in town for a short time, but it happened that I got out of class with perfect timing to meet up with him for a bit before I had to go to work.
3) I'm thankful that this semester is almost over!! Just over a month left... thank goodness!! I'm over it lol.
4) I'm thankful that my husband got to go meet his new bosses yesterday and find out more about this new job. It's even better than we imagined!!! So excited!
5) I'm thankful I've got tomorrow off all day!! No school, no work! I'll get to spend the whole day with Brad. While we do get to spend more time togerher since we live closer together, usually he still has to work or I still have school and work. So it'll be great to spend the whole day eith him!

Things I am Thankful For Thursday #10
This week has surprisingly gone by fairly quickly!!! :)
1) I know a couple of weeks ago I said I was thankful that my husband isn't controlling. Well, this week, I am thankful that neither one of us are jealous people. He works A LOT. I go to school ALL day. If he calls or texts, he doesn't freak out if I don't get back to him right away. Same goes for if I call or text him and he doesn't answer. I know he's busy, and I know that when he has the time, he'll get back to me. Also, I don't freak if he's checking out another chick. Either in front of me, or if I'm not there. Same goes for me. He doesn't get upset if I check out another guy. Why should we? It's silly to get jealous for ridiculous reasons...
2) I am thankful that I didn't have to work tonight!!! After I am done typing this up, and after an episode of a tv show I am in the middle of watching, I will be going to bed! YUP! It's only 7 o'clock right now, and will probably only be 8 by the time I get to bed. And I'm perfectly fine with that. I don't need to stay up and do homework, or party, or whatever. I LIKE to sleep. I LIKE going to bed early if possible.
3) Not only am I thankful for my job, I am also thankful that it comes with the benefit of getting to go to any of the gyms to workout. I NEED to get back to it and start working out again! It's been far too long, and I no longer have an excuse. :)
4) I am thankful that this week, my math teacher decided to take our math test score, take the square root, and multiply it by 10. Meaning, if our score was 49, the square root of that is 7, then multiply 7 by 10, so 70%. Thank god he did that!!! LOL I ended up with a 73!!
5) I am thankful that I KNOW what I want to do with my life in the future. So many people these days change their major so many times. Which, that's fine when you're 18, 19, 20... But I'm 24, almost 25, and I don't have the time to dick around. And luckily, I LOVE nursing!!

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #9
It feels like I JUST did a thankful blog like 2 days ago!!! LOL maybe cause I was a day late with my last one... :)
1) I am so, so thankful that my hubby just god a GREAT job opportunity that will a) move him 2 hours closer to me (which will make us only 2 hours apart), b) will give us benefits, and 3) be making more money so we won't have to worry about where our next check/bill $ will come from. I am so unbelievably excited for him, and me both!!! Hopefully this will lift a LOT of stress from both of us!!
2) I am super thankful that I got to spend a few days with him for my spring break. It's rough living apart from your significant other... But it also makes the time we do get to spend with each other that much better. Even though we get to see each other way more often now, than we did a year ago, it's still such an awesome thing when we do get to see each other.
3) I am thankful that my hubby's cousin is going to let us keep our third, and biggest dog, in his back yard when my hubby does move. My husband keeps this dog at his home, but when he moves, we were talking about finding him a new home because I can only have 2 dogs at my apt, and he might be moving in with a friend of his in an apt also... So, I am so, so glad that we are getting to keep him!! I was getting sad when we were talking about finding him a new home. He's such a good dog! He's still a puppy, but he's a big puppy now, but he's just such a sweet heart! I really would have cried if we would have had to give him up.
4) I am again, thankful for BOTH my in-laws!! I swear, they spoil me rotten!! :) Friday I needed an Rx filled and my mother-in-law took it and filled it for me. Mind you, it was NOT cheap!! And the same night, while I was sick, and it was snowing, and me nor my husband wanted to get out in the weather, his dad was out and about already, but he still brought me soup from a local restaurant in town. When I texted him to tell him thank you very much, he replied with, "Nothing's too much for my girl." I know I talk about how thankful I am for them quite often, but man, I really, really am!! They are fabulous!
5) I am thankful that I have now been at this job for over 30 days... LOL That might sound like I was expecting to get fired, or quit. But the reason I say that is because for the first 30 days we have to wear a white shirt, so people know we're the "new kid." Which wouldn't be bad, except I work with kids at my job!! LOL Anyone with kids, or who has nieces, nephews, grandkids, or who works with kids, knows that white clothing and children DO NOT mix!! Although, surprisingly, I didn't get a single stain on it until the last few days before my 30 days... But none the less, I don't have many white clothes except that t-shirt and my socks and maybe one other shirt... So, to do a load of whites JUST for that shirt was kinda a pain. So, I am so very thankful that I now have a blue shirt!!! YAY!!
And that's it for today! That was way easy compared to last weeks... :) LOL but I won't even go there!!!

Things I am thankful for Thursday #8 (on a Friday)
I realize it's not Thursday. However, yesterday I didn't have time to blog. I had a lot going on then drove to my home town and didn't get in til late. Plus I was having a super bad fay. Which is a horrible excuse. Because had I had the time, even in a bad mood, I would've realized things could be worse. Any who! Here goes week 8!!
Lol having to post my #5 up here... doing this from my phone, and its not letting me scroll past 3...
5) I am thankful that I've got a few days off work AND school!! I think that's possibly part of why I'm still sick... I keep going, going, going and can't just take time to rest. So, I'm sooo thankful that I've got a few days to do so!! :)
1) I am thankful that my taxes are done (again) and this time with the CORRECT W-2 and this time for free! I have a cousin in CA who's an accountant and offered to amend my previous file, and re-file for me. Of course I had to pay to send them. But $2 to send thrm to CA i.stead of $99+ to amend them thru H&R block... i'll take it!!
2) I know I've already said this one, but since my lovely MIL just called me and said she got one of my rx filled, I wanna say how thankful I am for her. She's just awesome!! I really really couldn't've asked for a better MIL. I'm thankful for her for many many rrasons too, of course. But today, I'm thankful she filled my rx for me.
3) I'm thankful that I made it to my home town safely last night. It started snowing when i was about 30 mins from, but luckily it didn't get bad. And when I did get into town, there was definitely snow on the roads. But not bad enough (yet) that I neede my 4wd. Today we woke up to a little more snow than that... lol so I'm not goin anywhere today!
4) I'm thankful that my husband doesn't tell me what to do or how to live my life. I know that seems like a no shit kinda thing. But really... I cut my hair shorter again, and he didn't care. I didn't tell him I was gonna do it. But he still didn't mind. I feel bad for the girls whosr boyfriend or significant other freaks out about their hair or how they dress and other petty things. So I'm very thankful that my hubby isn't like that.
Lol having to post my #5 up here... doing this from my phone, and its not letting me scroll past 3...

"Divorcing your spouse because you 'fell out of love' is like selling your car because you ran out of gas."-Jefferson Bethke
In case yall don't know who Jefferson Bethke is, he is the extremely talented young man who did the religion vs. Jesus video. Very awesome video, very awesome message. If you haven't seen it, you should look it up on youtube! Very cool! Anyway, after watching a few of his videos, I decided that I would look him up on Facebook and "like" him. The above quote in my title today, he posted it a few weeks ago. When I read it, I immediately showed my husband. I seriously think that it is a perfect quote, and I can totally agree with it!! People must have really jumped his case, because the next day he posted this: "In regards to my tweet earlier today about divorce and falling out of love: I wasn't addressing divorces that have biblical merit (abuse, adultery, etc), I was addressing the notion that some people have where it is ok to leave once you "fall out of love." Love is fueled by the promise of marriage, not the other way around. We don't leave our kids when in those seasons where we are angered/upset with them, and so it should be with our spouse.. ."
If you couldn't tell already, my blog tonight is going to be about marriage, and divorce. Not sure why, but the topic(s) have been weighing on my mind a lot lately. No, not because I want a divorce. My husband and I are doing just great! Also, I realize that some people may not agree with everything I have to say, some of you may agree with all of it. I'm really not trying to be a bitch, I am just putting it out there what my beliefs, and thoughts are on marriage and divorce. I don't expect everyone to be on the same page as me. So, now that that's out there, I shall begin...
Now, my husband and I have had the discussion about what we would do if we were to get a divorce. How we would act with each other, what we would split, if we had kids, how we would handle custody, etc. Some may think that's weird to do. We had this discussion before we even got married even. But MOST couples don't think that divorce will happen to them. They never think about it. I think that by us talking about it, maybe we might have possibly given our relationship good ju ju... LOL I know that really sounds weird, but I really do feel like because we have discussed it, that we'll be less likely to actually get a divorce.
In my opinion, I feel like there are very few reasons for a married couple to actually get a divorce. Very few. Abuse, is one, and if you have tried to repair the relationship, and it's still not working, that's another. Also, if your spouse is molesting someone (kids or adults), or any other sexual crime, I think that is also grounds for divorce. I know people are probably thinking, well what about if one person cheats, or what if one person is an alcoholic or is a drug addict. Nope. I do not think that those are grounds for a divorce. I think those are things that can be worked on with the help of either counseling, and or rehab for the alcohol or drug abuse. I feel like when I said, "for better or worse... in sickness and in health," I 100% meant it. And if he cheats, that's for worse. It's something we can and would need to work on. Alcoholism and drug abuse is also for worse, it's also "in sickness" because I do believe those are illnesses. Addiction is an illness. Also, things that can and need to be worked on. And as far as "falling out of love" with someone, I feel like that can also be worked on. Why did you fall in love in the first place? Take some time, even if it's just a weekend, and even if you do a "stay-cation" to just spend time with just the 2 of you. Romance each other. Work on it. Of course both parties have to be willing to work on it, but I think through counseling, both parties can become ready and willing to work on the relationship.
I have someone in my family who divorced her husband several several years ago because of drug abuse. Like I already stated, I feel like they could have worked through it. Her husband had been in a war, and that was his way of dealing with it. He needed counseling and rehab. In those "for worse" moments, that's when he needed her love the most. And instead they went straight for divorce without even trying to work on things. However, this same person, is now married to a man who has been accused, several times, of molesting young women and children even. Yet this woman will NOT leave him. Now this is one I don;t understand. I can see if he was accused once, maybe forgiving him and moving on. But multiple times... I would have to say, I love you, I really do, but I just cannot be associated with a person like that. Of course, this is just me again. Everyone has different feelings and reasoning. But this is just how I feel.
I also think that it's crazy that people get married just because they are having a child together. That does not mean you should get married. I think people should get married because they love each other, and because they can't see their lives without one another. Another thing that I will never understand, is why people get married so quickly... I knew I wanted to marry my husband 2 years into our relationship. However, we both knew we weren't ready at that time. Why people get married after only 6 months or a year even, I will never understand. I know it's totally possible for their relationship to work out, I've seen it. However, more times than not, those relationships end in divorce.
Another thing I will never understand, why people get a divorce after only 6 months of marriage. Okay, this one comes from teen mom. (I'm a little ashamed I even watch it... LOL) But one of the couples had gotten married, then 6 months in got a divorce because the girl cheated on her (then fiance) a week before their wedding. He didn't find out until they were already married. Again, I think that a marriage should be worked on before just automatically going to divorce. It's become far far too easy to get a divorce these days. And I might be one of the only younger folks that don't exactly agree with it. I don't completely disagree with it, but I disagree with it if you have NOT tried everything in your power to save the relationship.
Again, I'm sure some people are going to think I am a complete bitch for this blog tonight. But this is absolutely, 100% how I feel about divorce and marriage. I don't bash people who do end up getting a divorce without trying. I have plenty of family and friends who got divorces without trying to mend the relationship. And I support them through it. However, it's not for me.

Things I am Thankful for #7
Oops!! I almost forgot about Thankful Thursday!! Glad I didn't! :)
1) I am thankful that most of the time, I have running water. LOL This morning, when I got up to get ready for school, I woke up to no water. I was pretty upset. So, just thinking about it today, that's one of many things most of us take for granted. Therefore, I am very, very thankful that on a normal day, I do have that luxury. Many people don't have access to clean, running, water. So glad I do!
2) I am thankful that I know a someone, who is also taking Chem 1, and that we are able to get together tomorrow to study a bit!! LOL Obviously, I know several someone's that are taking Chem, but I wouldn't be comfortable going and studying with most of them. However, one of Brad's half brothers, wife, is taking Chem with a different teacher, and on different days. But we are pretty much on the same chapters. So We'll get together tomorrow! I'm thankful for that opportunity.
3) I might have already said this last week, but I am thankful that spring break is the week after next!! And actually, mine starts next Friday since I don't have class that day, and since I am taking Friday-Wednesday off from work! :) Gonna go "home" to see the hubby and our families! Soooooooo excited!!!
4) I am thankful that almost 3 weeks later, I am FINALLY feeling much much better than I was! I went back to the Dr. Monday and saw a different Dr who gave me the choice between a z-pack and more Amoxicillin... LOL I definitely took the z-pack! I want to be better before spring break! Also glad it was affordable! My first visit was only $50, then because I went back only a week and a half later, it was only $30 for the visit. I'm all about affordable when going to the Dr!
5) I am glad I am still alive and kicking. I know you may be thinking, well, you are only 24! Of course you are! But I was thinking about it a few days ago, and I have known way too many people around my age who have passed away. Either due to an accident, health reason, or taking their own lives. I am only 24, which means I shouldn't know ANYBODY around my age who has died. Unfortunately the world doesn't always work the way we THINK it should. So, that's my #5 of tonight. I am thankful to still be alive! :)

Things I am thankful Thursday #6
Think about that quote for a minute... Know what I'd have? Not much... Here goes #6!!
1) I am thankful that, even though I work with a bunch of women, none of them have been catty or bitchy! That's quite hard to come by with a bunch of females working in the same place. But I love it! All of them are super sweet, and super fun! :)
2) I am thankful that I don't have kids yet... LOL I know I work with kids, and I want to be a pediatric nurse, but, just being around kids so much this month, reminds me that I have a goal, and having kids at the moment would make it so much harder to obtain that goal. It'd still be do-able, but so much harder.
3) I am thankful that my grandparents are taking care of one of my dogs for a couple of weeks. I love all my dogs, and I miss the one they are taking care of terribly, but it is also sort of nice to only have to worry about one dog at the moment. It's giving me a break. Kind of how parents appreciate a break from their kids occasionally... Yeah, same feeling!
4) I am thankful that I have enough smarts, that I WILL pass this paper that is due tomorrow by 3:30, that I have not even started yet... Yup. I am a serious procrastinator! Usually not this bad, but this paper does not interest me in the least bit, and really I'm not even sure how I am going to go about writing it. But I know I will still pull off at least a B! Confidence is key ;)
5) I am thankful that yesterday was pay day!! :D Woo hoo! LOL not that I am going to do much with the money, but that's money in the bank for gas and food!! And that's ALWAYS a plus!!
And that's all I have for tonight... I NEED to get this paper done....

When all else fails, hug the dog.
Today has been one of those days where I definitely need to hug my dog!!! Sadly, only one of my 2 that live with me are with me currently. The other one left with my hubby on Tuesday when he left. We thought it would be a neat idea to let my grandparents take care of him for a couple of weeks until my spring break. They LOVE that dog! And I mean that dog is like a grandchild to them!! Plus since my grandpa is having surgery in April, he's super excited to be getting to babysit. :) (Don't ask me what he's having surgery for... I can't remember... I'll find out and blog about it sometime though).
Now, on to the "fun" stuff of my day... :/
Well, this morning started out fine and dandy. Until I got to school. LOL No, not because I got to school, but because as I was sitting in my car waiting to walk to class, some jack ass pulls up next to me and opens his door soooo hard that I thought someone had backed into me. No joke. So, being a girl who very rarely keeps her mouth shut on things, yelled at this douche bag. As he's sitting there telling me no big deal, it didn't do any damage. I got out and looked, and it did scratch the handle, but the handle is a hard plastic material, so I wasn't too worried about it. But none the less, I was LIVID to say the least. So, once he walked away, I decided to leave a note on his windshield saying, "Learn some consideration, ass hole!" Then proceeded to move my car to a completely different parking lot. Because my luck, he would have decided to come out and key my car. So that already started my day off lovey...
After classes, I had a horrible horrible headache. So, luckily, I had a few hours between class and work. So I went home and took a nap, which got rid of my headache. That was an awesome part of my day- the nap. And work wasn't bad either! Although, so far, it hasn't been bad at all. I'm quite fond of watching kids play, or playing with them. It kinda takes stress away.
Anyway, Back to more BS. So, I got a message on FB tonight from my old manager from my last job in CA that I had before I moved to TX. Well, she told me that she just sent out a NEW W-2 because the original had an error on it. I'm hoping it was just my last name spelled wrong. Because I've already filed my taxes. Although, I doubt it was just a spelling error. He wouldn't need to send a new W-2 for that... So, now I am stressing about that. I will probably get it Friday or Saturday. And between now and then I will be contacting a few people and resources to find out what I need to do to go about handling this situation. I've gotten advise from my parents, but god love them, lol they don't really know what to do either. We're all kind of at a loss of what needs to be done. However, I am very much stressed and very much pissed about the situation. I have been working for almost 11 years of my life, and have even worked for small, local, mom and pop type places, for 6 of those years, and have NEVER had anything like that happen before. I just can't even fathom how something like that even does happen... I'm just at a loss. It's not like getting my taxes done was cheap in the first place. $215 just to get them done by a "tax professional" at H&R block, to only be getting $99 back.
Alright, now that I've vented, and bitched enough for the night. I am off to work on a paper for English!! I will be back tomorrow with my usual Thankful Thursday! Even with all the shit from today, I KNOW I will find something(s) to be thankful for!! :)

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #5
And here goes #5!!!
1) I am thankful that this week has gone by, surprisingly, fast! I thought for sure that it was going to go by super slow since my hubby will be here tomorrow, and I'm excited about it! But, luckily, it's flown by!!
2) I am thankful that my taxes are done. I did them yesterday, and I was super pissed off because of how much I had to pay to get them done, to only be getting $99 back. But I am so glad that they are done, and I don't have to worry or think about them until next year!
3) I am thankful that the hubby will be here tomorrow! We didn't get to do anything for Valentine's day since we live 4 hours apart, but since he will be here tomorrow, we get to celebrate! :) Just dinner and a movie. Nothing too terribly exciting.
4) I am thankful that Chem was canceled today!! I got to sleep in a little this morning, and then I ran some errands, and picked up the apt, since class was canceled! Sooooo nice! That means I don't have much to do this evening other than my laundry! YAY!!!
5) I am thankful that my financial aide finally came in last weekend!! Even though I got a job, I don't get paid for another few days, I don't know what I would have done if I was still waiting on my grant!! Plus, with how much I had to pay to get my taxes done, I would have been SOL on paying them... LOL Although, that might have been funny... ;)
And that's about all I have for this Thursday! Short and sweet! :)
Monday, February 13, 2012
Oh, Monday
Well, today started out strange-ish... It snowed here yesterday, and into last night. Found out that classes would be pushed to 9:30. My first class didn't actually start til 11, so it didn't technically affect my classes, but in order for me to get to class on time, with the way the roads and weather were this morning, I would have had to leave around 9/9:30 ish this morning. Which I decided against. Too many crazies on the roads in the snow. Plus, I am STILL trying to get over this nasty cold!!
Thursday, this week, will be 2 weeks! I hope it's gone by then! I finally went to the Dr. on Friday and got some antibiotics. Sadly, the antibiotics are making my stomach act funny. I have no appetite, nothing tastes good, nothing sounds good, I can eat a few bites of something and that's all I want. It's been weird. I don't like it at all. The Dr. told me to come back in today if I wasn't feeling better to get a shot, but I decided against that too... I'm kind of stubborn when it comes to Dr visits. I figure I still have enough antibiotics to finish off the week, why go spend more $ just to get the job done faster. Well, it would be nice to move the process along, but really, I'm not in too big of a hurry. And I am feeling a bit better.
Tomorrow's Valentine's day. I will be spending it alone, once again. This is the third year in a row. Not that I'm "alone" for V-day, but my husband can't come down until Friday. His cousin is getting married this Saturday, plus we are gonna do dinner and a movie (or 2) to celebrate V-day. I say 2, because I think we are gonna go to the drive in here where I live. I'm pretty excited since it's been YEARS since I've been to a drive in theater. It should be pretty fun. Can't wait to see him!! It's been a few weeks. But at least we are getting to see each other more than when I was living in CA. Since he is coming up this weekend, I really need to clean!!! LOL! I'm not really that messy, but I just haven't wanted to pick up here and there. I guess I'll be doing that this week too. Shouldn't take me long to do though, thank god!!
I'm enjoying my new job so far. Tomorrow will be a week since I've been there. I've been kinda everywhere so far. But I am enjoying meeting all the girls, and all the kiddos. I got to do a parents night out Saturday night. That was pretty cool. It's been a different job compared to all my other jobs. But I am really liking it! It's a bit easier than some other jobs have been in the past. And even though I am working with several females, there's been no drama! Which is GREAT!! I'm 24 and don't have the time for drama. So it's super nice!!
I'm due for an upgrade on my phone this Friday. Since I got my financial aide in finally, I am thinking about going and playing with the HTC Rhyme for a bit to see if I like it. It would be only $50 for me with my upgrade. It reminds me a lot of my current phone, which I LOVE! So, I think it wouldn't be a bad deal. But again, I wanna go in and play with it a bit before I decide for sure. I guess if I hate it I can always switch back to my current phone. I thought about the iPhone, but I know most people either LOVE the iPhone, or LOVE the droid. And I LOVE my droid. So I'm kind of afraid of switching over to an iPhone. Plus, I've played with my moms iPhone, and it's not as easy to navigate as mine is. Also, Brad's cousin told me her brother has had both, and he likes the droid better. Not to mention, the iPhone would still cost me around $150... I don't really want to part with that much for a phone...
Well, I haven't had too much excitement go on here lately. Just wanted to give an update on myself. All is well here, other than being sick of course.

Things I am Thankful for Thursday #4
Alrighty, finally Thursday again! It's been a long week...
1) I am thankful to have found a job. With that, I am also thankful to know at least a couple of people and resources here. I was in the process of looking for a job at a gym, but was told front desk wasn't hiring at the moment, and that my availability wouldn't really work for any other position. However, I ran into an old friend from high school who is the manager for all of the kids clubs at all 5 gyms. And she was able to find some hours for me!! (That whole story is in another blog...LOL). Anyway, I am so thankful that I ran into her, and that she was able to find hours, and that I now have a job again.
2)I may have mentioned this before in a previous post, but I am thankful that I am fairly independent. Tonight, after I got off of work, it started raining, hailing, lightening, thundering... All that good stuff that I can't really stand. While I was still shaky, driving and when I got home, I am thankful that I feel calm now. Usually, with this kind of weather, I would NEED for someone to be here with me, I would NEED to be checking the news. But tonight for some reason, I just feel alright about it all. I'm actually surprised I haven't called my husband crying yet too... LOL!! So I am thankful for the independence part and for the calm part.
3) I am, again, thankful that I know a few people here. I have been sick for a week now. I started feeling better, but woke up today feeling like hell. I tried googling Dr.s that don't require insurance and that don't require you to pay an arm and a leg. So, I used my awesome resources, and found a few places that I need to call tomorrow.
4) I am thankful to have a washer and dryer in my apt. I know that sounds so silly, and simple. But it's true! In my old apt in CA we had an on site laundry room, but it cost $1.25 to wash a load and $1.50 to dry a load. Plus I had to lug my huge laundry basket down the stairs, and around the corner, then back around the corner and back up the stairs. It was not a fun task, that's for sure!! So I am thankful that this place had the hook ups for the washer and dryer, and thankful that my husband takes care of peoples houses and luckily someone he watches houses for was getting rid of their washer and dryer.
5) I am also thankful for having internet! LOL Again, a silly one, but again, true! I went 2 weeks here in my new place without it, without cable, nothing... Even though I still don't have cable, I can watch most of my favorite tv shows online, and when I get the chance. So, it's pretty nice!!
I suppose that concludes tonight's thankful Thursday... I'm tired, and gonna hopefully be in bed SOON!!
