Things I am Thankful for Thursday #21

OOPS!! I was in such a bad mood last Thursday, that I wasn't even in the mood to do this... That's no excuse though! This blog was made so that I wouldn't forget that I have PLENTY to be thankful for, bad mood or not. So tonight I am going to post 10 things I am thankful instead of 5...

Also, just wanted to take a moment to explain the photo real fast... This photo was taken a few days ago in/near my hometown of Ruidoso, New Mexico. The original poster of this photo is Tree Escalanti, and I believe she is also IN the picture. There is a horrible fire going on there right now that is finally around 40 something % contained. It was started on Monday the 4th by lightening. It's taken at least 234 structures, 224 of those peoples homes. More than 1,000 emergency crews (volunteer firefighters, national guard, local law enforcement, hot shots from out of town/state) are there working on getting it put out. Hopefully, it will be at 100% contained soon! I know of at least 3 people who have lost homes... 2 that actually lived in their homes, and one home that was a vacation home/was up for sale. Keep them all in your thoughts and prayers. On that note, here's my Thankful Thursday for this week!!!!

1) I am thankful that the fire in my hometown has not had any HUMAN casualties. Animals are important parts of family too, but I'm just glad that no human lives have been taken.

2) I am thankful for ALL the men and women who are working hard to get the fire out. They've got to be exhausted, hungry, and sore! They are an awesome bunch!!!

3) I am thankful that I was able to help by sending food kits to one of the fire stations. It will be getting there tomorrow, thanks to a friend who is going up there.

4) I am thankful that we didn't get the house that we really wanted. That just means there's something better for us out there.

5) I am thankful that there has been so much love and support coming from ALL over to help with this fire in my hometown. I had friends help me put the food kits together either physically helping, or donating money so I could get the supplies! People as far as WA state, and North Carolina have wanted to get involved and send donations...

6) I am thankful that my husband is okay after a horrible storm that hit where he lives a few days ago. He lives in a little RV and I'm sure it took a beating with the wind and hail. I know his work truck has hail damage... So I am definitely thankful he's okay !

7) I am thankful that no one in my family had to evacuate. I can imagine how scary that must have been for the families that did have to. But I am thankful none of mine had to.

8) Thankful that we are getting rain here where I live. TX could ALWAYS use rain!!!

9) I am thankful that I am going to be getting to go to my family reunion this year! Haven't gotten to go in a couple of years due to distance and money issues. But now that I live closer, and can catch a ride with some of my family, I am getting to go. Plus, we will be celebrating my great grandmothers 100th birthday!!! :)

10)I am thankful that my realtor has been so helpful, nice, and honest! I don't want to get screwed as I am doing this stuff pretty much by myself. Since my husband lives out of state, I am the one dealing with the realtor, and the loan officer. And the realtor has been incredible!
